I’m only a couple of days into life without social media and already I’ve noticed that I’m able to spend less distracted time with books and, better yet, with my boys.

Liturgy upon hearing birdsong, from the wonderful book, Every Moment Holy.

There was a hammer dulcimer, skillfully played, at the wedding I just officiated.

Today I deleted my Twitter and Instagram accounts. I’m also hoping more folks get on board here.

This will never not blow my mind.

A couple of weeks ago I was in Packwood, WA for my brother’s installation service as pastor of Packwood Community Presbyterian Church. Not the worst view of Mt. Rainier.

I’m getting off all social media. I left Facebook years ago. My Twitter account will be deleted tomorrow, provided I don’t log in before then. I’m keeping Instagram for now, but it will be the next to go. Yesterday, I opened a Linkedin account, just so I could have the satisfaction of deleting it today.

“When Christianity entered into the world, people were not Christians, and the difficulty was to become a Christian. Nowadays the difficulty in becoming a Christian is that one must cease to become a Christian.”
